Stop smoking services is for individuals 19 years of age or older who want to cut back and/or stop their tobacco use. Most participants will attend a 5 week stop smoking structured group that brings participants together in a supportive environment to explore topics related to making changes to tobacco use, including:
- understanding and developing coping strategies to manage triggers
- cravings and urges to use tobacco
- making changes to patterns of behaviour
- managing stress without tobacco use
As part of this program, nicotine replacement therapy (NRT patch, gum or lozenge – as determined by your pharmacist) is provided for the duration of treatment (up to a maximum16 weeks).
